DESCRIPTION
The Smoothing inlet and aerator is designed to add oxygen to the rainwater and prevent agitation of the biofilm on the rainwater tank(s) floor when additional water is collected.
Pre-filtration will remove most sediment and bacteria prior to rainwater entering the tank, but small fine sediment will settle at the bottom of the tank floor. Biofilm is accumulated sediment on the tank floor. Biofilm is beneficial for the tank and it may remove additional bacteria and metal from the water.
This device fits on the 4″ inlet pipe in the storage tank and operates by completely reducing the inflowing water velocity so the turbulence does not rotate water on the bottom 100) of the tank floor. The smoothing inlet acts as a brake and slows the incoming water down. The construction provides a calmed dispersed water outflow upwards into the storage by this it prevents stirring up the sediment of the storage and distributes the fresh aerated rainwater.
This component is made of stainless steel and will not leach to contaminate the water supply.
